Motor Vehicle Accident – February 8

On Friday, February 8, 2008 at 15:22 hours, Lyons Fire Rescue, along with Lyons Town Ambulance was dispatched to a reported 2 car MVA, head-on with possible entrapment, involving a propane truck at the intersection of Old Lyons Rd and Gansz Rd. Engine 3 took the assignment under the direction of Chief Witt and Assistant Chiefs Darcangelis and Rios.

Upon the first Officer’s arrival, a car was found into the front end of a propane delivery truck with the operator of the sedan still in the vehicle. After “popping” the driver’s door, the patient was extricated and turned over to EMS for transport with minor injuries.

LFD was assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. The assignment went back into service at 15:55 hours.
