Barn Fire – April 19

On Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 00:24 hours, Lyons Fire was dispatched to a reported barn fire located at 1697 Gansz Rd in the Town of Lyons. Engine 7 took the assignment under the direction of Chief Witt and Assistant Chiefs Paliotti, Darcangelis and Rios.

The first arriving Officer, Chief Witt, confirmed a working fire and requested Newark FD to fill in and tankers from Fairville and Marbletown. After a size up, Command requested additional tankers from Wallington and Oaks Corners. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidential. No injuries were sustained.

The assignment went back in-service at 05:48 hours. The fire department was assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
