On Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 00:08 hours, Lyons Fire was dispatched to a reported working fire within the Sunoco Gas Station located at 93 Geneva Street. Engine 6, Engine 7, Truck 1 and Rescue 3 took the assignment under the direction of Chief Witt and Assistant Chiefs Paliotti, Darcangelis and Rios.

   The first arriving Engine Company confirmed smoke showing from a one story, commercial brick building. Crews forced entry and quickly knocked down the fire as the Truck Company began ventilation work. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature. No injuries were sustained.

   The fire department was assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance, Lyons Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. The assignment went back in-service at 01:51 hours.
