Motor Vehicle Accident – November 23

On Monday, November 23, 2009 at 11:37 hours, Lyons Fire Rescue, along with the  Lyons Town Ambulance Corps, was dispatched to a reported two car MVA with possible entrapment, and one unoccupied vehicle on fire in the area of the Family Dollar on Route 31. Rescue 3 took the assignment with Assistant Chief Darcangelis in command.

Upon Rescue 3’s arrival, a two car MVA was found with confirmed entrapment in one vehicle and light smoke from the other. A passerby extinguished the fire just prior to the Rescue Company’s arrival. Following a short extrication, the patient was removed and turned over to EMS for transport with minor injuries. The operator of the second vehicle involved was also transported with minor injuries.

LFD was assisted on location by the Lyons Town Ambulance, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police. The assignment went back into service at 12:26 hours.
